Prices and luxury levels vary widely between the bus companies. Tickets can be had for as affordable as S$20 or even less than this, however, these buses do not always take the more efficient route and add one hour or more to this journey.

The most comfortable buses can cost more than S$50 or more and is well-equipped with leather seats. Some of them come with personal LCD entertainment system in the seatback so that you can select your own movies. The luxurious bus companies offer snacks, meal, and drink served by an attendant.

There are a few bus companies that provide online ticket booking facility. However, visiting a ticket counter at the Golden Mile Complex is still regarded as the most expensive and safest way to ensure a reservation. Always book in advance and keep a track of all the popular festivals in Asia that could affect transportation.

Look around the Golden Mile Complex

Some of the popular bus companies have luxurious waiting lounges or instead you can enjoy some cheap food in the food shop, which is directly opposite to Golden Mile Complex. In the fourth floor of the food centre, there is a small market that mainly sells all kinds of travelling, army equipment, and camping items.

The Golden Mile Complex is regarded as the “Little Thailand” of Singapore. You can find varieties of inexpensive and delicious Thai food and supermarkets.

Although you can occasionally find Air Asia flights on sale, the prices are surprisingly high for the flights between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, mainly after adding the luggage charges. Travelling in a bus eliminates the problems of navigating two airports, baggage counters and security for such a short distance journey.
