The most popular food groups in Singapore are Indian, local Malay, and Chinese, but there are a few incredibly good restaurants that serve a wide range of Western food from across the globe. It is regarded as an international food city.

Few of the popular Singaporean dishes include:

1. Fish head curry- As soon as you arrive in Singapore, you must try this dish. There are several kinds of Singapore fish head curry, but among all the Indian version is tasty. A huge head of Snapper fish floating in a flavoured spice-filled curry is irresistible. Typically, you get a huge bowl of fish head curry along with rice and other curries served on a banana leaf plate.

2. BBQ sambal stingray – It is a unique Singapore dish. Fillets of stingray are typically seasoned with a thick layer of chilli sauce, which is then grilled in a banana leaf package. The banana leaf is used to ensure the stingray is steamed and grilled in the right way. Cooking in this manner makes sambal juicy with an aroma of banana leaf in it. Make it a point not to miss this dish when you are in Singapore.

3. Zi Char- It is a term used in Singapore to refer cooked food made to order. Typically, it refers to any type of Chinese style deep-fried or stir-fried dishes. If you love Chinese flavours, you will love the Zi Char meal in Singapore.  The unique thing about this meal is that you can order a huge menu and get the precise dish you want. It is always served piping hot, taken out directly from the hot oil. It is incredibly tasty with rice.

4. Nasi Malayu or Nasi Padang- Though originally from Padang, Indonesia, being so near to Singapore, Padang food is also very famous. And because of the incredible combination of different curry pastes and flavors, Nasi Padang happens to be one of the popular meals to eat in Singapore. Not only this, at most of the Nasi Padang restaurant, you will come across an overwhelming display of various curries, vegetables, and meats.
