In the Central part of Vietnam, the monsoon season finishes in December. While the temperature drops down to sixties, you will be able to see the afternoon highs pushing eighties by February. In the southern side, the wet season finishes in the early weeks of November, and you will find similar kind of warm weather there also.

Vietnam in Spring

The weather in March and April is dry and warm in the northern side, which is a great time to visit. In Hanoi and around Ha Long Bay, you will find temperatures in the sixties with high humidity and occasional drizzle. Further south, you will observe steamy weather with a temperature between seventy and ninety degrees.

While you will generally have gorgeous sunny skies, you will still expect some rain. Large numbers of locals wear thing plastic ponchos. That is a good solution. If you wear anything thick, you will feel too much heat, so choose ultra-lightweight materials.

Vietnam in Summer

While the outermost corners of the north can still be chilled. Most of Vietnam is hot the entire summer. If you are looking to travel entire Vietnam, you will find the most comfortable weather from the month of May to June. If this is your first monsoon season, be prepared for some serious rain.
