Travel Guide to Boracay, Philippines

Just travel on a cheap internal flight out of Manila or Cebu and in less than an hour of time you will be in the madness of Boracay. You must see the place to believe how beautiful the place is. 4 km of fun, 4 km of white sand beaches, 4 km of lay days and nights. You cannot help but fall in love with this beautiful place no matter whether you are a hippy by heart or a consumer.

Be cautious, prices are high in Boracay given its popularity, but you cannot put a price on experience and fun, so stretch the bank balance for some days and enjoy the Philippines most visited tourist place.

Places to stay in Boracay

There are a few different places to stay in Boracay with a wide range of prices. Choose rooms for as little as 500Php for one night, while a night of luxury will charge you $400US. If you are looking for a cheaper place, you need to just head back from the beach a bit and the prices will come down. Each area has its own flavour.

White Beach Station 1: This area has plenty of high-end accommodation options, mainly for the Flashpacker, but you could try La Bella Casa or Frendz for a few reasonable options in Station 1. These are the main areas to stay but, do not get afraid to move inland either if you want to do things on an affordable price, it is a small island and it does not take much time to move around.

White Beach Station 2: Station 2 is where everything is happening. If you are among those who want to be in the middle of things then, it is the right place to be. Yes, here you will find crowds, and yes, there will be the right atmosphere.

White Beach station 3: Station 3 which is at the southern end of the White Beach is a bit lower-key compared to Station 1. If you want a slight quiet Boracay experience then, be here.

Bulabog Beach: If you are into kite surfing and have the desire to be close to the wind then, the eastern part of the island choose from November to April. This side of the island is considerably calmer than White Beach at night, but during the day both the beach and water are a kite extravaganza.

Things to do in Boracay

  • Beach it- Here, the beach is postcard-perfect and is quite ok to do all this every day.
  • Watch the countless sunsets- Get a cocktail in hand, kick back and then watch another day in paradise disappear with the sun setting. Just wait for the fire dancers to come out and set the scene for the coming night, then have some dinner without your feet leaving the sand.

  • Scuba diving-Why not get more of your holiday and choose a dive certificate while you stay there. While you can watch heaps with a snorkel and mask, diving truly is an experience. Jumping into the depths of the Philippines ocean has got to be one of the best in this world.
  • Kitesurfing- The reef at the Bulabog beach makes for some wonderful flat water. Combine this with super consistent winds from November to April and you got an amazing kitesurfing area for the beginners and experts alike.
